8 questions with… the egg

We sit down with the humble egg for a rare and exclusive interview

Hi, Egg.

Hi, Human.

Sorry but we just have to ask – what came first, you or the chicken?

I thought I made it clear I wouldn’t talk about that?

Worth a try. Let’s move on… what’s your biggest nutritional asset?

I suppose my protein count is the thing everyone focuses on, but I’m also a great source of linoleic acid, a polyunsaturated fatty acid that’s absolutely key for your healthy diet.

Tell us something we might not know about you.

And the biggest internet myth you’ve read about yourself?

Poached, fried or boiled?

That would be like me asking which of your children you love most. I could never choose.

Fair enough. Sweet or savoury?

It depends. During the week I suppose I lean towards being served in savoury dishes, but on the weekend I do like to relax and show my sweeter side.

Looking back, do you have any regrets?

On reflection, a part of me wishes I’d knocked the whole ‘egg puns’ thing on the head. That said, some of them can be eggcellent…
