What is the best way to brighten white clothes?
Keeping white clothes white is not easy, but not impossible. Soak your clothes in the following:
Bicarbonate of soda – Mix 250ml of baking soda in 4 litres of warm water until the baking soda dissolves. Immerse your garment in the mix for 8 hours.
Aspirin – Crush 5 x 325mg Aspirin tablets and add them to 8 litres of hot water. Soak your garments in the mix for 8 hours.

Do you have a go-to stain removal technique?
All stain professionals have their own secret technique. But stain removal mainly depends on
the type of stain. Here’s our top two:
Armpit stains – Ever noticed the nasty yellow tint? That’s aluminum not sweat. The most efficient way to remove aluminum is to use fabric rust remover. Soak rust remover into the fabric. Use a toothbrush to rub through the stain. Wait for 5 minutes and then rinse out the fabric rust remover with warm water.
Fresh stains – Don’t wait for a stain to dry. Rub a little kitchen salt on the stain. Salt will absorb the moisture or liquid from the stain. Then rinse it and gently rub the stain with some lukewarm water.
How can you prevent dark clothes from fading?
Keep it cool – Using cold short washing cycles has been proven to extend fabric’s dye and fibre lifecycle. So whenever you have a dark load use cold water.
Twist and turn – Dark garments fade when the fibres are broken. By turning items inside out the friction during the wash is highly reduced and the fabric’s fibres are preserved.

How can one stop clothes from tangling in the washing machine?
Knotted laundry is a problem that many face. The agitator in your washing machine can create havoc and literally ‘eat’ your favorite garments. To avoid this, divide your laundry load based on the type of fabric and then use the right setting for each set. Use a delicate setting for intimates and gauzy garments and permanent press for heavy fabrics like denim. Secondly, close zippers, fasten buttons and don’t let anything hang loose, including belts, and detachable hoods.

Should washing machines be cleaned?
Definitely, especially if your machine is pre-owned or old. Harsh water causes limescale buildup in pipes. Over time this causes some appliances to hold stale water in certain components, becoming a breeding ground for mold, mildew and bacteria. Stale water can soak in the fabric of your clothes and go undetected because bad odours get concealed by the aggressive chemical scent of detergents. This combination deteriorates the fabric of your clothes and can cause allergic reactions.
